Benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid and tretinoin are some of the ingredients used in topical treatments of sin acne. There can be side effects with these drugs including burning, rashes or inflammation. You are less likely to experience these reactions if the product you use has been through pharmaceutical consulting.

Those treatments which are taken in pill form work by slowing down bacteria growth and reducing inflammation. Examples are clindamycin, erythromycin, sulfur, or isotretinoin.
