Acne is a skin condition that usually affects individuals who are experiencing puberty. This means that it appears around the ages 13 years to 19 years old on average. Some individuals may experience it a few years before or after the stated range. The reason why acne usually occurs during puberty is because this is the times that we experience hormonal imbalance due to the changes in our bodies.

There is also another time in our lives when we experience hormonal imbalance and this is when women are pregnant. Due to the changes that a woman experiences during pregnancy, her hormones will fluctuate to accommodate the new change in her body. Acne can be one of the results of this hormone imbalance.
